Find Your Style

Find Your Style

Finding your style can be hard. Especially, if you don’t know what you like.

Luckily, I have been through the whole entire process of starting from scratch and developing my own style. I have so many tools up my sleeve to find the perfect style that is customized to your exact taste.

What colors look good on you?

A really important tip to find your style, is to find what colors look the best on you based on your undertone.

Want to learn more about your undertone? Learn More.

Cool (pink, red or bluish undertones)

You would look amazing in colors like green, blue, teal, and purple.

Warm (yellow, peachy, golden undertones)

Colors like brown, orange, yellow, and green would look best on you.

Neutral (a mix of warm and cool undertones)

You’re extremely lucky, because both cool and warm colors will look great either way.

What is your personal aesthetic?

Now that we have established what colors look amazing on you – It is important to find an aesthetic.

What does finding your aesthetic mean?

It means that you’re finding your very own personal look. Or finding your particular taste.

Maybe you don’t know what you like exactly, and need help with finding that out. One of the tools that helped me find my aesthetic is a little place called Tumblr. Tumblr is known for a lot and actually has a bad reputation for various reasons. However, everyone has so many different uses for this social media platform. I specially use Tumblr for inspiration. Whether it be fashion or decor ideas. On Tumblr, you can find so many types of aesthetics and styles. Believe me, if you are a person that has no idea where to start, you should start here.

Aesthetic Example:

This is an example of my aesthetic. I have my own personal Tumblr page that is full of inspirational pictures like this. I absolutely adore light pastel colors like pink and beige. This is just a small sample of my aesthetic that I created through Tumblr.

This is a really important step to finding your style, so you can understand yourself better.  Instead of having a random mix of clothes, you can have a cohesive and organized closet. Once you find this, you can shop with a better understanding of what you like. This can reduce the stress of not knowing what to buy. It also saves you time, so you are not wandering endlessly in different stores for hours.

What inspires you?

Now you know what colors look best on you and what your aesthetic is. It is time to find inspiration from outfits you like.

I use Pinterest to save all of the outfits that inspire me. I think it is a helpful and beautiful tool to use, because you are easily able to make your very own board to compile all of the outfits you find inspirational.

With this website, you are able to gather ideas you find on Pinterest and find a style that best suits you.

As you can see in the video below, I scrolled through my Pinterest feed and found outfits that matched best with my aesthetic.

Now, I have a whole board of all the outfits that inspire me. I can take notes and ideas from this and start building my closet.

How do you keep up with your style?

The last tip is to find bloggers, influencers, public figures, magazines, and etc. who has a similar type of style as you. This is a good idea, so you can keep up with your style and maybe get inspired by what, for example, a blogger wears.

Congratulations! You made it to the end. Hopefully, all of my tips helped you as much as they helped me and others.
